After studying animation at the prestigious West Surrey College Of Art And Design, Mark started his professional career at renowned London based animation company Filmfair. 

 

Here he quickly rose through the animation ranks to direct on many of their stop frame children's series and specials.

 

Following a creative period of freelance animating and directing, Mark signed to the director’s roster of noted animation production companies Tandem Films and then Bermuda Shorts. After a productive period of working in STOP FRAME Features, Mark is now represented by Passion Pictures.

 

Through these production companies Mark directed and animated numerous commercials, promos and short films with such clients as General Motors, Disney, Wrigley’s, MacDonald’s and Nike, with whom he won the Golden Arrow for best Animation.on their worldwide Nike campaign for the 2014 Football World Cup.

 

With the resurgence of the stop-frame format in feature film production, Mark was a  lead animator on Tim Burton’s “Corpse Bride” and helmed the role as Animation Supervisor on both Wes Anderson's animated version of “Fantastic Mr Fox”, and the second Tim Burton stop-frame feature “Frankenweenie”. More recently Mark worked closely with Wes Anderson again, this time as Animation Director on Wes’ second stop frame feature "Isle of Dogs".

 

All four of these films were Bafta and Oscar nominated for best animated feature.

Mark is currently REPRESENTED BY PASSION PICTURES AND IS living and working in London.
